Family, fun, and furry friends! On Saturday June 1, 2019, the Friends of Los Cerritos (FoLC) community put together this great event. It brought dog owners and their furry friends to run around, socialize, participate in a pet parade and visit with local vendors including yours truly - you know, Cielo Roth Photography. I photographed pets, people and all the activities. I also had a little booth to shoot in but it’s much more fun to take candids of furry friends. Some are more cooperative than others!
The FoLC is a group that organizes fun events (like a Fun Run, Christmas Caroling, and other fun activities throughout the year). I try to go to the monthly meetings if I can but usually I’m racing around with the kiddos or trying to get the word out about Cielo Roth Photography. I love the Los Cerritos community -its the community close to Bixby Knolls and its where my family and I live.
There were pet (cat and bunny) adoptions happening. Long Beach K-9 unit was out to talk a little bit about their program. There was a volunteer from the LB Aquarium talking about the new wing of the aquarium. Pet Paw the animal communicator was decked out and hanging out in a tent of curtains. A pet and human trainer Leri Hansen showed off her dog training skills with a free obstacle course. There was a service dog that helped a woman and author alert her when her diabetic numbers went too low - that was pretty neat. And also in attendance, a real animal communicator/psychic! Oh and really cool raffle with great prizes donated from local businesses.
It was a really cool day filled with friends, community and of course dogs! I pet and awed over many a dog and oohed at the kitties for adoption. The assistants were trying to talk me into adopting another cat. I didn’t think Scotty and Oscar (our two boy cats) would appreciate that very much.
